October 9, 2000 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Leading European Test, Assembly and Packaging semiconductor manufacturing factory selects sdiSMS for development of SECS based Factory Hosts. Vancouver, Washington, October 9th 2000 - A leading backend semiconductor manufacturing factory in Europe has selected the sdiSMS product for the development of its factory station controllers using the SECS-II standard. sdiSMS provides enabling tools for the development of SECS-II based interfaces on Windows NT. The selection was announced after a rigorous technical evaluation by the customer, which included sdiSMS and other competing products. The factory accommodates 400 equipment of which 50 will initially be automated using sdiSMS. sdiSMS provides SEMI SECS-II and General Utility Libraries and simplified methods for SECS communication. sdiSMS also provides simultaneous support for SECS-I and HSMS communications using either RS-232 or TCP/IP. Users can quickly develop a factory host or embedded equipment SECS interface using either Visual Basic or Visual C++. |
